The Backstory

Hola!

We’re Jose and Leslie, the couple behind Canmore Detailing.

Our journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s shaped who we are—hardworking, resilient, and grateful to God for all we have and to the people who’ve supported us along the way.

Jose came to Canada with nothing but a dream to build a better life for his daughter and family. He started a painting business with no money, no advertising, and barely any English—but he made it work. Through grit, skill, and his no-fear personality, he built a trusted reputation in the Bow Valley. Many of those early clients and contacts remain valuable connections to this day.

Then life came at us all at once. COVID shut everything down, and work came to a halt. At the same time, Jose’s health took a sharp decline, leaving him in constant pain until he could no longer work at all. He eventually needed double hip replacement surgery. Leslie was also facing two serious, incurable illnesses, making an already difficult time even harder. In what felt like the blink of an eye, we lost our health, our income, and the sense of stability we had worked so hard to build.

When Jose recovered, he took a job detailing cars at a dealership, where his skill quickly stood out. Customers and coworkers began noticing his work and started requesting private detailing services. Meanwhile, Leslie was accepted into the SMARTSTART program, gaining the knowledge and support to turn an idea into something real. With Jose’s hands-on expertise, Leslie’s business training, and a leap of faith, we opened Canmore Detailing. ​

Not Just Business

This is also our springboard to not just to take care of ourselves and our five children, but  also to give.

 

A portion of profits go toward:

✅ Providing essential care packages for people living in extreme poverty in Jose’s hometown in Chile.
✅ Offering micro-loans through KIVA to help other aspiring entrepreneurs break the cycle of poverty.
✅ Supporting two foster children through Plan Canada.
✅ Giving back to the community that gave us a fresh start.
